Further definitions of the terms used can be found in Art. 4 GDPR.
Collection and processing of personal data
The website operator only collects, uses and passes on your personal data if this is permitted by law or if you consent to the collection of data.
Personal data is all information that can be used to identify you personally and that can be traced back to you – for example, your name, e-mail address or telephone number.
You can also visit this website without providing any personal information. However, we store your access data to this website (without personal reference) in order to improve our online offering. This access data includes, for example, the file you have requested or the name of your Internet provider. By anonymizing the data, it is not possible to draw conclusions about your person.
If personal data is collected as part of the services offered, it will only be processed to provide the information you have requested. When collecting personal data, only the data that is absolutely necessary must be provided. The website indicates whether the fields are mandatory or voluntary. Your data will be stored by us on servers within the European Union. These are specially secured by technical and organizational measures and protected against access by unauthorized persons. However, we would like to take this opportunity to point out that despite regular checks, complete protection against all hazards is not possible.
In principle, personal data is processed exclusively on the basis of our legitimate interest in fulfilling the services we offer and optimizing our online offering. We always delete or block your personal data when the purpose of storage no longer applies. However, data may be stored beyond this if this is necessary due to statutory retention and documentation obligations or other legal requirements. In such a case, we will delete or block your personal data after the end of the corresponding requirements. As a responsible company, we do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
Disclosure of personal data to third parties
We only use your personal information to provide the services you have requested. If we use external service providers in the course of providing our services, their access to the data is also exclusively for the purpose of providing the service. We take technical and organizational measures to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and also oblige our external service providers to do the same. Personal data will not be passed on for advertising purposes.
Handling contact data
If you contact us as the website operator through the contact options offered, your details will be stored so that they can be used to process and respond to your inquiry. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.
Access data
We, the website operator or page provider, collect data about access to the website on the basis of our legitimate interest (see Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR) and store these as “server log files” on the website server. The following data is logged in this way:
- Visited website
- Time at the time of access
- Amount of data sent in bytes
- Source/reference from which you reached the page
- Browser used
- Operating system used
- IP address used in pseudonymized, i.e. unrecognizable, form
The server log files are stored for a maximum of 6 weeks and then deleted. The data is stored for security reasons, e.g. to be able to investigate cases of misuse. If data must be retained for reasons of proof, it is exempt from deletion until the incident has been finally clarified.
Online survey
If the user decides to take part in the online survey made available on this page, further personal data will be collected automatically on the basis of the legitimate interest of the operator as part of the scientific evaluation of the survey results. This concerns the IP address, which is stored together with the time the survey is conducted and the actual responses for the purpose of ensuring the quality of the results.
In addition, participants have the opportunity to voluntarily provide further personal data during the course of the survey that will be used to conduct the scientific study. This includes data used to contact the participants, namely name, e-mail, telephone number and, if applicable, the name of the institution. It is possible to conduct the survey without providing this data. Insofar as personal data is the subject of mandatory questions (nationality, first two digits of the zip code, etc.), participants are free to provide this information; however, it is not possible to complete the survey without answering such mandatory questions.
Your data will be stored for the duration of the scientific evaluation of the survey and then permanently deleted.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that are stored on your end device. Your browser accesses these files. The use of cookies increases the user-friendliness and security of this website. We only use so-called session cookies on our website, which are technically necessary for the function of the website, e.g. to be able to access protected areas of the website. Session cookies generate an ID consisting of randomly selected numbers and letters that allows us to recognize you and store your session information while you are using our website. The session cookies are deleted at the end of your visit.
Common browsers offer the setting option of generally not allowing cookies. However, if you make the appropriate settings, there is no guarantee that you will be able to access all the functions of this website without restrictions.
Integration of third-party services and content
It is generally possible that third-party content (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”), such as videos from YouTube or maps from Google Maps, may be integrated into this website. This always presupposes that the providers of this content process the IP address of the users. The integration is necessary for the presentation of the content, as otherwise the relevant content could not be transmitted to your browser. We endeavor to only use content whose providers only use the IP address to deliver the content. However, we would like to point out at this point that we have no influence on how exactly the respective providers process the data. As far as we are aware, we will inform users about this. The individual third-party content used in our online offering is described below.
Use of YouTube
Our website includes videos for which we use a plug-in from the YouTube (“YouTube”) service operated by Google. The operator of the service is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. We use YouTube so that we can show you videos and tell you more about us and our projects. This is also the legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
When you access a website of our online offering on which a video is embedded, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account. Further information on the handling of user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy, which also applies to YouTube, at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy
Google Maps
We integrate maps from the “Google Maps” service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The processed data may include, in particular, IP addresses and location data of users, which, however, are not collected without their consent. The latter is usually done in the settings of your mobile devices. The data may be processed in the USA. The provider’s privacy policy can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy. An opt-out is possible here: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated
Rights of the user
As a user, you have the right to request free information about which personal data has been stored about you. You also have the right to have incorrect data corrected and to have the processing of your personal data restricted or deleted. If applicable, you can also assert your right to data portability. If you believe that your data has been processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
Deletion of data
Unless your request conflicts with a legal obligation to retain data (e.g. data retention), you have the right to have your data deleted. Data stored by us will be deleted if it is no longer required for its intended purpose and there are no statutory retention periods. If deletion cannot be carried out because the data is required for permissible legal purposes, data processing will be restricted. In this case, the data will be blocked and not processed for other purposes.
Right of objection
Users of this website can exercise their right to object and object to the processing of their personal data at any time.
If you would like a correction, blocking, deletion or information about the personal data stored about you, or if you have questions regarding the collection, processing or use of your personal data or would like to revoke your consent, please contact the following e-mail address: datenschutz@ikj-online.de
